I love the Olympics
For me, it all started on the morning Nicole Cooke won Gold for Great Britain in the Women’s Road Race. I woke up, it was the weekend, I switched on the tv and there she was, just over 3 hours into the race in the pouring rain. I sat with my boyfriend, both of us glued to the tv, willing her to stay in the lead group. We screamed and cheered her all the way to the finish line. Moments before the finish we thought she’d lost it but she did it. I was in tears I was so happy for her!
And because of the success of Team GB, I’ve had tears in my eyes almost every day since. The BBC coverage of the Games has been tremendous; it has been emotional, entertaining and inspirational. I can’t wait for 2012. I’d love to compete!
